"Staff just didn’t seem very friendly"
The zoo itself was okay, nothing amazing but not terrible either. The main thing that bothered us was the staff. A few of them seemed annoyed when we asked simple questions, and it just kept feeling like we were bothering them. It didn’t feel very welcoming, honestly. We tried to enjoy the visit, but the unfriendly attitude from some staff really stood out.
"Nice shady spot when it’s hot"
I went on a warm day and was surprised by how much shade there was. Places like this usually feel like they’re either totally exposed or way too hot, but this was mostly comfortable. The benches were super useful too, because everyone needs a break when the sun’s out. A few areas still got warm, but overall it was an easy, pleasant walk around.
"Parking was okay, but a little tight"
I did find a spot, but for some reason the lot felt kind of cramped and not super easy to navigate.

"Feeding felt a little rushed to me"
The animals did eat, so I guess the feeding went fine overall. Personally, though, it felt a bit rushed, like there wasn’t much time to really enjoy the moment or see how they were doing.

"Easy day out, but a little disappointing"
Austin Zoo was easy to do with kids, which I appreciated. The paths were simple to get around and there was enough to keep the kids interested most of the time, which is always a win. That said, I did leave feeling a little disappointed overall. I think I expected a bit more to see and a little more excitement from the visit. Still, it was a low-stress family stop, just not quite as memorable as I hoped.

"Surprisingly clean, which I honestly needed"
I went in kind of expecting the usual mess I somehow always end up dealing with at places like this, but the walkways and animal areas were actually really clean. Even the bathrooms were better than I thought they’d be, which was a nice surprise for once.

"Nice, laid-back zoo day"
We had a nice visit to Austin Zoo. I was in the mood for something relaxed and easygoing, and this fit that perfectly. Most of the animals were out where we could see them, though a few were tucked away hiding or just snoozing. The paths were simple to get around, and the whole place had a calm, no-rush feel. It wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was still a fun way to spend the day.

"Kids learned a lot, but I’m still waiting for an apology"
My kids really did learn a lot here, and I appreciated how educational the experience was for them. That said, there was a moment that didn’t sit right with me, i was expecting at least a simple apology. It would’ve made the whole experience feel a lot better

It was, easy to get around. The paths were mostly accessible, with just a few bumpy spots here and there, but nothing too bad.

"Nice little zoo for the price"
I thought the tickets were reasonable for what you get, and it felt good knowing the money helps support the animals. It’s not a huge zoo, but we still had a really nice afternoon walking around. Parking was simple too

"The animal encounters were a hit"
I kind of assumed the kids would enjoy the goat feeding since they usually love anything hands-on with animals, and sure enough, it was a big hit. They had so much fun feeding the goats and didn’t want to leave

"Took my kids and had a..."
Took my kids and had a good time. Place was clean, paths were easy, and the animal areas looked well cared for. Bathrooms are a little small, but still kept nice.

We went in hoping to look around a bit, but the place were so packed we could barely move. Lines was everywhere, and it just got frustrating fast. Not really our kind of experience

"I really wanted to love this, but..."
I went into this excited because I wanted to support the rescue mission. At first I was like, okay, this is a great cause and I’m happy to be part of it. But then the actual experience just didn’t feel very rescue-focused at all, and that kind of threw me off. I wanted to feel good about supporting it, but by the end I was more disappointed than anything.

"You can tell the animals are reeeally cared for"
I visited Austin Zoo and left feeling good about it. The animals had space, shade, and clean areas, which was sooo nice to see. The staff seemed like they really knew the animals and genuinely cared about them. It felt way more like a rescue spot than just a regular zoo.
